Final Weeks-Just Shooting Around

Walked around Quinnipiac's Campus and snapped some shots. These were my favorite. The others can be found on my fotothing account.

Time to finish up...

Although yesterday was the official "last day" of class, you are still welcome to post through Monday morning... I will be doing the grades Monday afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the summer!

Best Wishes to all...

Jerry

Hello,
For this week's assignment, I took picutres at Wickham Park, in Manchester, CT. This park is so amazing, and is filled with acres of themed gardens, scenic paths, and great views. This is a new favorite place of mine, and if anyone is looking for a relaxing daytrip, I really suggest checking this place out! Here are some of my favorite pictures this week, and many others can be seen on my fotothing website. Hope you like them.

Last week

Favorites of the last week...I love the top. My cousin Marlena was the model for my portraits. The bottom is also her and I love its simplicity.  The other two I just took and liked.

Self Portrait

Here are my redos of the portraits.  I tried to make the adjustments from the syllabus.

Portraits. My friends Ryan and Danielle.

Portrait

This is a portrait shot I was able to capture very quickly of my stepfather dressing up as an elf! It was quite amusing to see him in this costume and thought it was the perfect picture for this assignment.

random shoots

The above pictures were taken in Washington DC. The top picture is of the cherry blossoms, which is quite a magnificent sight! I liked how I was able to fill the frame with the entire beauty of the tree. The second is of a close up "macro" of a subway bus exhibit in the Smithsonian American History museum. I wanted to just capture the sign on the side and the design. The third is a giant chess board that I just found so awesome! The black and white contrast is what makes it cool in my mind. The last picture is of the signs found in Arlington Cemetery by JFK's eternal flame. A national symbol of respect that is certainly photo worthy.

Shadow and Light

This picture was taken at a golf course. As we were going along - before teeing off on the 5th hole, I spotted this little guy. He sat and posed pretty for his close up! Notice the shadow behind him in the water.
This picture was taken around dusk in my neighborhood at the beach. It really is quite breath taking to be right down the street from this beautiful scenery every day.

Cropping

Here is a slightly better crop job from a different photo I took of my mom. I know the lighting and facial expression isn't correct for the assignment, but I thought I would add it anyway. I am going to search for a new portrait victim now...

Week 7&8

These are a few of my favorite shots from shooting these past few weeks. When picking a favorite I would have to pick the bird from my shadows and lighting picture who decided to sit in the open chair next to us and join us for dinner!

Week 6

Here are some of my portrait pictures! The first one is of my boyfriend's cat, second of my best from Vicki, third is myself, and the final on is of my dog Chloe. I love the one of my dog, just smiling in the sunshine.

Week 5

More Building Photos

Not sure if this will count for everything but as I was shooting for other postings for the class my boyfriend took me to visit one of his favorite buildings in New Haven. Here are the pictures.

Week 4

Here are a few shots for shadow & light. I went around town shooting that day. I really love the one of the little bird who decided to join me for dinner in New Haven at the end of the day!

Week 7&8 Photos

For week's 7 and 8 I went out and shot a bunch of different photos.  Most were in my neighborhood, but I decided to drive around town and try to get the coolest pictures possible.  Here are my favorite photos from weeks 7 and 8.  By the way my fotothing account name is franklyon.  All one word go check out my photos and let me know what you think.  I would also like to say this class was great and taught me a lot towards photography and how to take good pictures.  Thank you all especially Jerry.

This photo was of a new trail put in near my house.  I thought the way the sun shined down on the ground looked cool with the shadows and the dark green trees behind it.
In this photo you can notice shadows and a nice scenery.  This was down the street from the beach.  I tried to check out as many places throughout the day as possible.
This photo was of my dog.  He was sleeping but I decided to wake him up.  You can see his shadow on the couch underneath him and the light from the window is showing on his face.  Taking photos of him seems to be the most fun because he is so cute and playful.
