Corey's Macro

Great Corey... Window light can be quite contrasty Notice that the out of focus area to the right is actually brighter than your in focus focal point.  To emphasize the main point of interest, I darkened the out of focus right hand side and converted to grayscale.... I dialed back the light some more overall as well...  Have you tried shooting in your camera's RAW mode yet?  When you open a RAW file, you are given the opportunity to dial in the exposure better.  You can also use the EV - setting on your camera to reduce the overall exposure.  In this case I would have used a -1 EV setting at least.
